l\u2019Universit\u00e0 la Sapienza di Roma, l\u2019Associazione malattie Rare \u201cMauro Baschirotto\u201d \u00a0odv ha assegnato al vincitore l&#8217;International award of gene Therapy XI edizione.<\/p><p>Il convegno \u00e8 stato organizzato dalla\u00a0Commissione di Epilettologia Sperimentale\u00a0della\u00a0LICE\u00a0(Lega Italiana Contro l\u2019Epilessia).<\/p><p>Al meeting hanno partecipato illustri scienziati come\u00a0 Matthew Walker\u00a0dell\u2019 University College di Londra e Chair della Commissione ILAE-EUROPE;\u00a0Giuliano Avanzini\u00a0emerito ex Presidente della LICE e dell\u2019ILAE;\u00a0ed i\u00a0membri della Commissione di Epilettologia Sperimentale della LICE.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 14px; color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">Al termine delle varie presentazioni tenutosi nel corso della giornata ci sono state le premiazioni per:<\/span>\u00a0la migliore presentazione orale, la migliore presentazione di terapia genica, il miglior poster e il prestigioso Premio Internazionale di Terapia Genica, di 150.000 Euro che sar\u00e0 assegnato al miglior \u00a0progetto di cura della Malattia di Lafora.<\/p><p>La malattia di <a href=\"https:\/\/www.birdfoundation.org\/malattia-di-lafora\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lafora<\/a> (LD) \u00e8 una forma di epilessia mioclonica progressiva ereditaria grave e rara, che si manifesta nell\u2019adolescenza. La malattia si presenta con crisi epilettiche, allucinazioni visive e deterioramento neurologico progressivo.<\/p><p>La terapia risolutiva al momento non esiste \u00a0e per sconfiggere questa terribile patologia bisogna correre contro il tempo, finanziando progetti innovativi nell\u2019ambito delle terapie avanzate come la terapia
